The two demos below show segments of the completed project constructed through the sessions in Premiere Pro Complete Course. This book uses the same basic project material as that used in the Premiere 6.5 Complete Course book.

The project used in the Premiere Pro version of the project is significantly changed due to advancements in the program and types of effects available. Each demo shows a small segment of the book's project. The first portion of the movie, as shown in the left still image, describes life in the city. Overview of Premiere Pro Complete Course

The book starts with a preliminary project, called the Confidence Builder. The main project is then built through a series of twelve sessions. In addition, there are four bonus PDF files on the CD, comprising one additional session and three bonus discussions.

1, Starting the Project: Choosing project settings, time codes, importing project footage, saving projects, transferring clips to the Timeline.

2, Editing Video Clips: Adding groups of clips to the Timeline, editing for length, speed, and direction in the Source View Monitor, Project Window, and on the Timeline.

3, Working with Clips: Configuring the layout of the Timeline, modifying clips on the Timeline, Source View Monitor, performing different edits.

Errata

Confidence Builder Files

In the Confidence Builder tutorials, you are instructed to use the New Project dialog box and choose settings to start the project. The retail version of Premiere Pro does not use the same dialog box arrangement as that shown in the tutorial. Please use the image below to replace that at the top of page 8, and replace step 5 as described below:

5. Click the Custom Settings tab to open a list of panels; the General tab displays. Chose these options in the General tab:

6. Click Browse, and locate the folder that you created in Step 1. Store all the project materials in the same folder.

7. Type a name for the project in the Name field at the bottom of the dialog box. The sample project is named confidence_builder.

Note: Premiere uses the .prproj file extension for project files.

8. Click OK to close the dialog box. The program's interface opens.

Session 1 Errata

In the Session 1 tutorials, you are instructed to use the New Project dialog box and choose settings to start the project. 5. Click Browse to open the Browse For Folder dialog box. You have to specify a storage location for your project and its files.

Note: The Load Preset tab displays when you start a new project. Premiere includes a collection of presets that you can use to save time when starting a project. The presets are included in one of two digital editing modes, either DV-NTSC or DV-PAL. The project uses media from a number of sources, including QuickTime, still images, and VFW (Video for Windows) formats.

Session 3: Working with Clips > Tutorial: Using a Rolling Edit on the Timeline

Step 1 of the tutorial on page 93 incorrectly names the file used in the tutorial. The step reads:

1. Right-click the c_subway.mov clip on Video 2 starting at 02:20, and choose Speed/Duration.

The step should read: Right-click the c_subway2.mov clip on Video 2 starting at 02:20, and choose Speed/Duration.

Page 98-99, step 12 indicates 11:28 but specifies 12:28, step 13 the time 5:17 is incorrect.
