If you never used Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 before,
this book is THE reference to get on the program
in a couple of hours.
Donna Baker's writing style is very clear;all the technical terms are explained for the novice & intermediate user, the book is full of time saving techniques-hacks-bright ideas-inside scoops and watch out graphic icons,the expert sits next to you on the table!
In 761 pages, you'll learn it all from chapter 1 First you find some images(page 1-88)then image editing 101(page 89-238);pick what you work with(page 239-358)all about selecting & layers;not so basic image editing (page 359-421)manually correcting images & retouching magic;from an image to work art (page 423-574),filters,text,brushes & patterns;now that the images look great(page 575-710)printing,creations,slide shows ,panoramic images,managing image distribution,cooking with raw images.
The fact that all the photos & pictures in the book are in black & white isn't an handicap and explains the cheap price of the book.
